WHAT
WE DO
NURTURING NATURE BACK TO HEALTH
At Nutting Stream Wildlife Rehab Clinic, we are dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of injured, orphaned, and ill wildlife. Our mission is to provide comprehensive care to a diverse array of species, ensuring they have the best chance of returning to their natural habitats. Below are the key services we offer:
Rescue and Intake
Medical Treatment
Rehabilitation and Recovery
Our team responds to reports of wildlife in distress, and facilitates transportation to the clinic. Upon arrival, each animal undergoes a thorough medical examination to assess its condition and needs.
We offer basic medical care in house such as wound dressing and medication management. For more advanced medical needs such as imaging, lab testing, and surgical interventions, we transport animals to veterinary hospitals.
Rehabilitation at Nutting Rehab Clinic is focused on fostering a natural healing environment. We offer specialized housing with enclosures designed to mimic natural habitats and reduce stress. To promote optimal recovery, we also offer species-specific diets and physical therapy to ensure animals regain their natural abilities.
Orphan Care
We provide intensive care for orphaned wildlife while trying to remain as detached as possible so they remain wild and not dependent on their caregivers. They also receive proper socialization ensuring they develop species-appropriate behaviors until they are ready for release.
Conditioning and Release
Our goal is to return every rehabilitated animal to the wild. We practice pre-release conditioning to gradually reintroduce animals to their natural settings and build necessary survival skills.
Education and Outreach
Nutting Stream Wildlife Rehab Clinic is also committed to educating the public about wildlife conservation and rehabilitation.
-
We work with schools to teach children from an early age about local wildlife, the challenges they face, and how to be good stewards of our natural world.
-
We also educate through volunteerism. We offer many volunteer opportunities and ways for people to learn, get inspired, and involved.
-
Our resource library offers valuable information on wildlife care and how to handle wildlife encounters.
